Since joining SmartMinds in November 2016, Yasmeen has experienced a lifetime of both professional & personal growth. As the Communications Leader she spends her days supporting collaboration efforts both internally and externally, helping to represent and build the SmartMinds Vision, Mission & Core Values. Yasmeen’s love for art, dance & culture have helped her develop creative adaptability, leading her to play a role in all functions of the team from creative and content construction to site development, accounting and finance. It’s this passion, adaptability, and intuition that continue to challenge and inspire her team members every step of the way.

Defina is a self-taught artist and graphic designer who brings passion and personality through every bit of work she touches. With experience across a broad range of industries, her adaptive nature is the perfect fit for the diverse work that the SmartMinds team tackles. Bringing new perspectives to life through her work, Defina is committed to generating positive social change through the art she creates and is a testament to the notion that great strength of will and character can come even in the smallest of packages.

An energetic, curious and adaptable leader, Shaan brings a history of building things, selling things, and bringing things together to the SmartMinds team. A former VP at VaynerMedia, he has built teams primed for growth and environments designed for change across New York, Los Angeles and London. A former sailor, winemaker, writer and mixed martial artist, he consistently aims to explore and experience the world around us. At SmartMinds Shaan strives to nurture and support the team by bringing focus, awareness, and follow through to each and every day.

As the Director of Content at SmartMinds, Alex focuses his energy toward transforming our team’s ’visions’ to ‘visuals’ through creative and innovative solutions. After serving 5 years as an intelligence operator with Marine Special Operations, Alex was featured on American reality television where he grew a deep understanding of social media and content development. Using his extensive network of global contacts across the entertainment industry, Alex strives to align SmartMinds with individuals and organizations who believe in contributing toward a solution for the global climate crisis.

An ecstatic man built on perseverance that lives to give! Kieran supports the team as a videographer, editor and investment specialist. Bringing an eclectic mix of experience to the table, Kieran has done everything from studying under a holistic doctor, to working for multiple NGOs and the U.S. government, to traveling around the world working and living in sustainable communities. On his journey he realized a need for a more effective approach to creating a healthier planet. He believes blockchain is the answer to many of the world’s current needs and is taking the steps to forward the SmartMinds team’s reach by documenting the journey.

Project Leader

Doing the best possible in any situation, setting the team up for success in even the most unconventional environments and relishing the beauty in our differences are just some of the things that make up Martin. As a project manager, his focus is on keeping the team on track in every sense of the phrase. Whether it’s a challenge or opportunity that’s presented, Martin’s meets them all with a clear and calm: “We will do this”. Years as a club manager in Germany have given him the background to tackle a broad range of obstacles, a skill he exercises regularly while supporting the team. Overseeing the SmartMinds online infrastructure, site development, and coordination with external resources are just some of the ways Martin contributes to SmartMinds.

With an insatiable hunger for personal growth, building authentic connections with others, and inspiring people to pursue the things that inspire them, David has found the most suitable of homes heading SmartMinds outreach, business development, and PR. A former Director of Content & VP of Sales in the marketing, tech, & entertainment industries, he has built an authoritative art around storytelling and a reputation for positively influencing those around him. An avid traveler & explorer, he consistently loves being in new environments & company. David ventures to emanate the SmartMinds culture to everyone he comes in contact with to leave a legacy of people living their best lives.

Business Development & PR

Energetic, engaging and captivating, Adrian has been helping inspire and activate the SmartMinds team since its earliest days. A restauranteur by trade, Adrian is known for transforming any environment he steps into, infusing it with a mix of passion and purpose. Internally he keeps the team focused and motivated, while externally he aims to extend the footprint of the SmartMinds Enterprise through business development and outreach efforts.

Partnerships & Investment

With a background in business and finance, Grant has played a key role in diverse projects ranging from private equity & venture capital to derivative trading and green energy. Market strategy and relationship development are areas where he contributes to the SmartMinds team. Fluent in 3 languages, his keen vision regarding the blockchain and all things cryptocurrency brings a unique lens to the future roadmap of all SmartMinds related ventures. A student of the arts and passionate about sustainability, Grant has lived all around the world and supports the global expansion of the SmartMinds team.
